At breakage the oil pump in most cases replace with the new. However it can be disassembled to check and define, its details are how worn-out. As pressure of oil in the oil pump is created at the expense of rotation of the cogwheels linked among themselves, in most cases it is possible to repair the pump, having replaced these cogwheels provided that the case of the pump is not damaged. In a cover of the pump the reduktsionny valve which can cause malfunction is located. For pump dismantling, depending on engine type, be guided or fig. 166 (the engine of 2,0 l), or fig. 170 (VR6 engine).
Dismantling of the oil pump carry out in the following order:
- unscrew fastening bolts from the lower and top part of the case of the pump and uncover the pump the pump case. On the 2,0-liter engine take out from a pump cover two short bolts;
- unscrew two bolts 1 (see fig. 170 ) fastenings and remove a maslopriyemnik together with laying 3 from the case 7 of the oil pump of the VR6 engine. On the 2,0-liter engine the O-shaped sealing ring 11 (see fig. 166 ) is used. It is necessary to replace laying or an O-shaped sealing ring with the new;
- unscrew bolts of fastening and uncover the pump 10 (see fig. 170 ) with the reduktsionny valve the case 7;
- take out from the pump case a cogwheel with shaft and a cogwheel without a shaft 9;
- pull out a power shaft 6 oil pumps. The power shaft has two O-shaped sealing rings 5 (only for the VR6 engine) which always it is necessary to replace with the new.
Check of a technical condition of details of the oil pump
After dismantling all details wash out detergents, blow the compressed air and execute the following:
- check working surfaces of the case of the oil pump. In case of wear of nests in the locations of bearings — it is necessary to replace the case of the pump, oil pressure decrease differently is possible;

- measure with the help щупа (fig. 171) a lateral gap of gear wheels of the oil pump which should be 0,05 — 0,20 mm. In case of its excess replace gear wheels or all pump;

- by a steel corner or a steel ruler (fig. 172) measure the maximum axial gap of gear gear wheels, which should be within 0,06 — 0,10 mm (for the VR6 engine) or 0,05 — 0,15 mm (for the engine of 2,0 l). For measurement of an axial gap put on the top surface of the case of the oil pump a steel corner or a steel ruler and with the help щупа measure distance between a ruler and a face surface of cogwheels;
- on the case of the oil pump of the 2,0-liter engine check люфт a shaft of a leading gear. If it is, it is best of all to replace the pump case;

Note
Gear gear wheels always replace in pair at detection of their damage or wear of teeths. As a rule, wear tracks on a lateral surface of teeths look as the polished brilliant surface.

- clamp a pump cover (for the VR6 engine) in a vice and turn out a cap 13 (see fig. 170 ) the reduktsionny valve. Take out a spring 12 and a zaslonka of the 11th valve (the end of a pin of a zaslonka sits inside and at assembly turn on this attention);
- check the valve and a spring. Pressure at which the valve should open, makes (550±20) kPa;
At assembly of the oil pump watch, that surfaces of contact of parts of the case of the pump were pure. Before assembly oil all parts.
On the VR6 engine insert from below bolts 8 (see fig. 170 ) fastenings of the case of the oil pump, wrap them and tighten the moment of 25 N · m, and the bolts inserted from above 4 — the moment of 10 N · m.
On the 2,0-liter engine bolts of fastening 17 (see fig. 166 ) tighten the moment of 20 N · m.

Note
Before establishing the pump, be convinced that gear wheels rotate easily, without jammings.

Replace and grease with O-shaped engine oil both sealing rings 5 (see fig. 170 ) a power shaft of the pump before will insert a shaft into a gear wheel (VR6 engine).
Establish new laying on an opening of a flange of the case of the pump, establish on the pump 7 case a maslopriyemnik 2 together with laying 3, wrap new bolts of 1 fastening and tighten them the moment of 10 N · m.
Flange of a maslopriyemnik which fastens to a case, cover at assembly by AMV 188 001 02 hermetic (VR6 engine). Grease with engine oil a zaslonka 11 reduktsionny valves and insert a pin into an opening of a cover of the pump. Establish a spring 12 and wrap a cap 13.
Fix the pump in a vice and tighten a cap the moment of 40 N · m (VR6 engine).
