The radiator serves for branch of warmth from cooling liquid as an air stream.
The system of cooling of the engine is under pressure. A radiator cover with laying tightly close a radiator, but thanks to specially picked up spring which has been built in a cover in case pressure in system of cooling rises to 140 — 180 kPas, the cover of a radiator opens. Pressure in system of cooling raises because of expansion of cooling liquid that leads to boiling temperature increase.

Check of a cover of a radiator also is carried out by means of the delivery pump VW1274

. Tighten the pump VW1274 to a cover (see
fig. 186
) and increase with its help pressure until the cover will not open. The pressure size at which there should be a cover opening, should be between 140 and 180 kPas. If size another, it is necessary to replace a radiator cover.
