Note Before making replacement of two cables of gear shifting read all instructions concerning this work. Many of operations are rather difficult, and they are difficult for seeing off to the inexperienced person.

Replacement of cables of gear shifting is a laborious work. The Trosovy drive of gear shifting in unassembled form is shown on (fig. 248) .

Cables of gear shifting cannot be changed separately as they treat one knot. Replacement of cables of gear shifting carry out in the following order:

- disconnect plugs and remove AB (do not forget to have at itself a protective code of a radio tape recorder);

- remove an air pipe 1 (see fig. 234 ) and a partition 2 compartments of AB;

- if it is established, remove the additional block of the relay located at the left in a motor compartment of the engine (see fig. 235 , arrows 1 and 2);

- unscrew fastening bolts (see fig. 235 , an arrow 3) and remove AB casing with a broad tank of system of cooling. Put a tank aside;

- a screw-driver carefully wring out one cable from the lever 1 (see fig. 239 ) a choice of transfers and the second cable from the lever of 2 inclusions of transfers;

- compress clamps (see fig. 240 , arrows) and take out both cables of gear shifting from the holder on a transmission;

- unscrew bolts of fastening of the forward screen of thermal protection of system of release of OG and shift it in an interval between system of release of OG and the back screen of thermal protection so that both cables of gear shifting became visible. If there are difficulties, disconnect a reception pipe and an average part of system of release of OG that it was possible to displace the forward screen of thermal protection;

- remove both lobbies of a seat together with devices of adjustment of provision of seats;

- unscrew the handle of the lever of gear shifting and remove it together with a compression spring (the spring will weaken after a handle otvorachivaniye);

- unfasten from the central console the goffered cover 2 (fig. 249) of the lever of gear shifting;

- pull the goffered cover up and remove it together with the mechanism 1 (see fig. 249 ) blockings of inclusion of a backing;

- remove from clips a covering of the central console and unscrew bolts of fastening of the central console;

- open an ashtray and pull out it movement up;

- remove a bulb 3 (fig. 250) of illumination of an ashtray and disconnect a shtekerny block of 2 systems of diagnostics;

- remove the central console up via the gear shifting lever;

- unscrew bolts of fastening and remove average facing 1 (fig. 251) of the dashboard;

- unscrew fastening bolts ( fig. 252 , are shown by shooters) and remove the rack of strengthening being under the dashboard;

- lift the lever of the parking brake and pull out a screw-driver two stoppers (fig. 253) . Remove the handle of 1 lever of the parking brake in the direction forward and pull down from the lever a cover 2;

- disconnect a flange of fastening of a cable from the bottom;

- remove an air lattice of a final opening of a heater and the back channel of heating;

- disconnect both cables of gear shifting from gear shifting levers. For this purpose lock mechanisms press against the stop back ( fig. 254 , an arrow 1) and turn in the direction (arrow 2) for their unblocking;

- compress both uvulas (fig. 255) and take out both cables from the case of levers of gear shifting. Now both cables of gear shifting can be pulled out in salon.

Installation of cables of gear shifting carry out as it should be, the return to removal, thus consider the next moments:

- insert cables separately (in turn) into openings of the bottom of a body;

- both cables of gear shifting go under the car bottom to a transmission;

- the cable 1 (fig. 256) of a choice of transfer should cross with a cable of 2 inclusions of transfers. After that move both cables against the stop into transmission clips;

- put on the end of a cable 1 (see fig. 239 ) the lever of a choice of transfers, and a cable 2 on the lever of inclusion of transfers;

- extend the lever of a choice of transfers against the stop outside and squeeze out both uvulas outside;

- bolts of fastening of a rack of strengthening under the dashboard tighten the moment of 20 N · m.
