The brake system of the Sharan car has two subsystems working independently from each other — working (foot) and lay. The working brake system with a hydraulic drive is divided into two independent contours: the right forward and left back wheel — one contour, and other contour — the left forward and right back wheel.
Pressure in both contours of braking is created in the main brake cylinder by pressing a brake pedal. The vacuum amplifier is applied to effort reduction by pressing a pedal of a brake and more effective work of system. The vacuum amplifier of a brake drive works at the expense of a razryazheniye which is forming in an inlet collector of the petrol engine or at the expense of the special vacuum pump at diesel engines. Under usual service conditions both contours work synchronously.
At refusal of one of contours, for example, owing to its depressurization and leakage of brake liquid, the second contour of braking with some loss of efficiency on time of braking and a brake way works. The structure of working brake system includes a brake pedal, the signaling device, the main brake cylinder, the amplifier of a brake drive of vacuum type brake mechanisms of disk type from ATE, with a floating bracket on lobbies and back wheels, pipelines, hoses and anti-blocking system (ABS) from Teves. At ABS system installation from the car the pressure regulator in a brake drive acts in film.
The parking brake is put in action by the manual driving lever through driving cables on brake shoes in the mechanism of back wheels. The main brake cylinder will tighten to a forward part of the amplifier of a brake drive and serves for simultaneous creation of pressure in both contours of a hydraulic drive of brakes by pressing a brake pedal.
Over the main brake cylinder the compensatory tank providing system with brake liquid settles down.
On forward wheels of the car establish ventilated brake disks, and on back — continuous brake disks.
At the brake mechanism with a floating bracket pressing of brake shoes to a disk is carried out by one piston.
