Repair Sharan/Sharan Volkswagen>> Hydraulic booster of a steering>> Replacement of cross-section steering drafts>> Replacement of a head of cross-section steering draft After replacement of cross-section steering draft or a head of cross-section steering draft carry out adjustment of a descent disorder of wheels:
- remove a forward wheel;
- keeping cross-section steering draft for a shestigrannik, fix it in motionless situation. Weaken a lock-nut of cross-section steering draft;
- unscrew a nut of fastening of a head of cross-section steering draft on a soshka of a wheel and a stripper separate connection (see
fig. 264
);
- remove a head of cross-section steering draft, considering thus quantity of turns which were required for its removal;
- if it is necessary to replace a hinge cover:
- remove collars and pull together the goffered cover;
- put on a new cover for the acting end of cross-section steering draft and establish on it new collars. After that it is required to carry out adjustment of a descent disorder of wheels;
- establish a new head of cross-section steering draft and wrap it on that quantities of turns on which the old was twirled;
- clear a bolt of a head of cross-section steering draft and insert it into a wheel soshka. Put on it new самоконтрящуюся a nut and tighten it the moment of 30 N · m. From final situation tighten it for 90 °;
- inspect a descent disorder of forward wheels (see section 13 «Forward suspension bracket»). Pay attention to that the safety goffered cover was not braided. Tighten a lock-nut on inside of the hinge of cross-section steering draft the moment of 55 N · m.
