Repair Sharan/Sharan Volkswagen>> System of greasing of the engine>> Check of pressure of oil
It is necessary to know the following:

The 2,0-liter engine has the switch of pressure 5 (see fig. 166 ) oils on 25 kPas (dark blue isolation) and the switch of pressure of the 6th oil on 180 kPas (black isolation);
- the VR6 engine has the switch of pressure of oil on 30 kPas (brown isolation) and the switch of pressure of oil on 140 kPas;
- pressure of oil in the engine can be measured by means of a manometer with an adapter which is rolled instead of the switch of pressure of oil;
- on engines (2,0 l and VR6) one of switches of pressure of oil is connected to a control lamp of insufficient pressure of oil. At pressure drop of oil 25 kPas (the engine of 2,0 l) or 30 kPas (VR6 engine) the switch of pressure of oil on 25 kPas are lower and respectively on 30 kPas is closed and thus the control lamp of insufficient pressure of oil lights up.
At control it is necessary to check both switches.
Check of switches of pressure of oil carry out in the following order:
- check and if necessary finish to norm oil level in the engine;
- include ignition. The control lamp of pressure of oil thus should light up;
- start the engine. The control lamp of pressure of oil should go out;
- disconnect a shtekerny block from the switch of pressure of oil on 25 kPas or 30 kPas (is determined by color of isolation) and close the wire end on "weight". The control lamp of pressure of oil should light up;
- again put on a shtekerny block;
- disconnect a shtekerny block from the switch of pressure of oil on 140 kPas or 180 kPas (is determined by color of isolation);
- start the engine and let's to it work at frequency of rotation more than 2000 mines-1. Should light up a control lamp of pressure of oil and work a sound signal.
Check of the switch of pressure of oil on 25 kPas or 30 kPas carry out in the following order:
- turn out switches of pressure of oil on 25 kPas or 30 kPas (is determined by color of isolation);

- screw a manometer 1342 (fig. 176) instead of the switch of pressure of oil (on the 2,0-liter engine — in a head of the block of cylinders, on the VR6 engine — in the filter basis);
- connect a brown cable 1 (see fig. 176 ) a manometer to "weight";
- connect the measuring device (a tester or a diode verifying lamp) between the switch of pressure of oil on 25 kPas or 30 kPas and a positive conclusion of AB. The control lamp or the light diode should light up;
- start the engine and gradually increase frequency of rotation. As soon as the manometer will show 15 — 35 kPas (the engine of 2,0 l) or according to 15 — 45 kPas (VR6 engine), tension should be equal 0, and the control lamp should go out. Otherwise replace the switch of pressure of oil with 25 kPas or 30 kPas.
Check of the switch of pressure of oil on 140 kPas or 180 kPas carry out in the following order:
- disconnect a shtekerny block from the switch of pressure of oil on 140 kPas or 180 kPas (is determined by color of isolation);
- turn out the switch and screw a measuring instrument of pressure of oil;
- connect the measuring device (a tester or a diode verifying lamp) between the switch of pressure of oil on 140 or 180 kPas and a positive conclusion of AB. The control lamp or the light diode should not burn;
- start the engine and gradually increase frequency of rotation. Check: on the 2,0-liter engine at pressure of 160 — 200 kPas the control lamp lights up, and on the VR6 engine the control lamp should light up at pressure of 120 — 140 kPas. If it does not occur, replace the switch of pressure of oil;
- increase frequency of rotation to 2000 mines-1 and check, that the manometer showed at least 200 kPas (for VR6 and the 2,0-liter engine). Thus the temperature of oil should be 80 ° C;
- if it not so, replace or repair the oil pump. Pressure of oil should not be more than 700 kPas.

Note
If pressure of oil more than 700 kPas, it means that is faulty the reduktsionny valve on the oil pump (does not open). In this case remove the oil filter and replace a cover of the oil pump together with the reduktsionny valve.
