Shock-absorbers and screw springs have color marking. Always establish a spring with the corresponding marking.
Gas-filled shock-absorbers are established on all cars. Shock-absorbers can be replaced separately from other parts of a suspension bracket.
Spring or shock-absorber replacement procedure:

- compress a suspension bracket spring the adaptation which should take up all effort of a spring. There are some options of the adaptation for the spring compression, one of them is shown on fig. 288 . If for compression of a spring brackets are used, reel up on them not less than 4 — 5 rounds of a wire;
- remove a nut in the center of the top support of fastening of a rack. As the piston rod thus can rotate, insert into the end of a rod of the piston a shestigrannik of 7 mm and, holding a piston rod, unscrew a nut a wrench;
- remove the top support of an amortizatorny rack and take the bearing located under it;
- remove a screw spring. If you do not plan to change a spring, the tension adaptation leave on it;
- remove a protective cover and take the rubber buffer;

- check quality of operation of the shock-absorber. For this purpose insert the bottom end of the shock-absorber into a vice and extend a piston rod, and then again it insert. Resistance should be identical during all piston stroke of the shock-absorber. Assembly is carried out in return sequence concerning dismantling process. Establish the removed details (see fig. 287 ). Special attention turn on correctness of installation of the basic bearing. Also pay attention to correctness of installation of the end of rounds of a spring which should adjoin to the limiter in the bottom basic cup of a spring (the shooter on an amortizatorny rack). Holding a shestigrannik a piston rod in a motionless condition, tighten a nut of fastening of a rack the moment of 60 N · m.
