Repair Sharan/Sharan Volkswagen>> Two-liter engine (ADY)>> Cleaning system with absorbent carbon application

Fig. 161. Parts of system of cleaning with absorbent carbon application: 1 — an arm; 2 — the butterfly valve case; 3 — a ventilating hose; 4 — a vacuum hose; 5 — the electromagnetic valve; 6 — a shtekerny block; 7 — connecting elements, are located on the lower part of the air filter; 8 — a separator; 9 — a bolt, 10 N · m; 10 — the ventilating pipeline; 11 — connecting elements; 12 — O-shaped sealing rings; 13 — the holder; 14 — T-shaped;;;;;;; 15 — the ventilating pipeline

The main objective of this system — not to give to pairs of fuel leaving through the ventilating pipeline 15 (fig. 161) of a fuel tank, to get to the atmosphere, and to bring together them in a separator 8 with absorbent carbon. Thanks to this system evaporations harmful to environment which can be formed, for example when heating fuel in a tank are caught and condensed.
At the working engine pairs collected in a separator with absorbent carbon, being condensed, arrive back in a tank. This process is regulated by the electromagnetic valve 5 which work the electronic control unit (EBU) operates.

Fig. 162. Parts of system of cleaning different from the VR6 engine with absorbent carbon application on the 2,0-liter engine: 1 — the bottom surface of the air filter; 2 — the rubber holder; 3 — the electromagnetic valve; 4 — a shtekerny block; 5 — the butterfly valve case

The majority of details of this system are identical to the 2-liter engine and the VR6 engine. Details of system of cleaning with absorbent carbon application for the VR6 engine are shown on (see fig. 161 ). Different details of this system for the 2-liter engine are shown on (fig. 162) .
At removal and installation of details of system of cleaning with application of absorbent carbon carry out the following recommendations:
- the ventilating pipeline 15 (see fig. 161 ) departs from the valve of ventilation of a fuel tank;
- the arm 1 fixes the electromagnetic valve 5;
- the ventilating hose 3 should not adjoin to other parts of the car;
- the vacuum hose 4 goes from the ventilating valve of a case;
- the electromagnetic valve 5 opens at the included ignition in the direction specified by an arrow. If the engine is heated-up, the valve turns on EBU;
- the shtekerny block 6 — is a dvukhshtyrkovy shtekerny block of green color;
- connecting elements 7 are located on the lower part of the air filter;
- the separator with absorbent carbon is located in a lobby, right, a wheel arch. For its removal it is necessary to remove a covering of an arch of a wheel;
- the ventilating pipeline 10 passes to atmosphere and is strengthened in a body;
12 it is necessary to replace O-shaped sealing rings always if connections of elements 11 were opened;
- the locations of connecting elements 1 (see rice 162 ) correspond to connecting elements 7 (see fig. 161 );
- the electromagnetic valve 3 (see fig. 162 ) fastens the rubber holder 2;
- the shtekerny block 4 electromagnetic valves — is a shtekerny block 6 (see fig. 161 ).
