Check of a regulator of tension on the car

- start the engine and let's to it work about 15 mines on average turns;
- by means of the voltmeter measure tension between the plug "30" (the plug of a thick red cable on the generator) and "mass" of the generator;

- unscrew bolts 9 (see fig. 334 ) fastenings of a casing and remove a casing;
- unscrew two bolts of the 7th fastening of a regulator of tension 6;

- carefully take out from the generator case a tension regulator assembled with a shchetkoderzhatel and generator brushes (fig. 336) ;
- measure length of coal brushes acting from a shchetkoderzhatel. If their length it is necessary to replace less than 5 mm, brushes.
The new coal brush has length of 13 mm, thus, it is possible to learn, coal brushes were how strongly erased. Replacement of old coal brushes by the new means replacement of all regulator of tension assembled with brushes and a shchetkoderzhatel as coal brushes are soldered in in a shchetkoderzhatel. Trip with the faulty generator

- if nevertheless it is necessary to switch off the engine, put the car under a bias that there was a possibility to start the engine, pushing the car under a bias;
- switch off heating of back glass, a radio tape recorder and an oven;
- if there is a weak rain, put screen wipers on a mode of faltering inclusion;
- if it is necessary to go to a night-time, include only a passing beam.
