Before removing a cranked shaft that it is possible to make only on the dismantled engine, measure an axial gap that the nobility at assembly, whether it is necessary to change adjusting washers on the average radical bearing (fig. 440) .

Insert щуп on the average bearing (number 3) between a cheek of a cranked shaft and the inserted adjusting washer as it is shown on fig. 441 and check size of an axial gap which should settle down in limits from 0,07 to 0,17 mm. The greatest gap should not surpass 0,37 mm.
Pay attention to, that the axial gap was chosen completely, for what rest the lever (best of all the wooden handle of any tool to avoid damage) in a cheek of a cranked shaft and with its help wring out a shaft aside. Inserting various on thickness щупы, establish exact size of a gap.
It is possible to measure an axial gap by means of the indicator which should be attached to the face party of the block of cylinders, and to establish a measuring finger on an end face of a cranked shaft. After that press a cranked shaft in the indicator direction. Establish the indicator on a zero and press a shaft to the opposite side. Look at gap size on the indicator.
