Measure a gap on height between piston rings and flutes by means of measuring щупа (fig. 427) . If a gap of a kompressionny ring more than 0,25 mm, or a gap of a maslosjemny ring more than 0,15 mm, are worn-out either rings, or the piston. Nominal sizes are specified in the table of admissions and control.
In turn insert all piston rings, since bottom concerning a case into a cylinder opening. Having overturned one of pistons a reverse side, press through rings approximately on 20 mm down. After that they will appear directly in a cylinder opening.

Insert into a gap between two ends of a ring measuring щуп to measure a gap in the lock of a piston ring. On fig. 428 it is shown, it is properly correct to make gap measurement. At kompressionny piston rings the gap should be equal 0,2 — 0,4 mm; at maslosjemny rings — 0,25 — 0,4 mm. The limit of wear of all rings makes 1,0 mm.
At an insignificant gap (for example, at new rings which also should be measured) the ends of rings can be ground off a file. For this purpose clamp a file in a vice and grind off about it the ends of rings. At too big thermal gap the corresponding ring should be replaced.
Check on wear and teases piston fingers and plugs of rods. Also if only one rod has damages, it is necessary to replace all detail assembled. Bolts of bearings of a rod always replace with the new. Check rods by means of the device for correction of rods on deformation and twisting. The received sizes should be minimum. If you have doubts concerning a condition of rods, address on HUNDRED to carry out there corresponding measurements. If will bend one rod, it is necessary to change all set.
