Repair Sharan/Sharan Volkswagen>> Two-liter engine (ADY)>> Pistons and rods>> Assembly of pistons and rods Correctly to collect a rod with the piston and to establish it in the engine in appropriate situation, use earlier put marking. If replacement of pistons was made, check, that all pistons belonged to one type.
At assembly of the piston and a rod observe the following recommendations:
- an arrow on the piston bottom (either drawn, or beaten out if the piston new) should specify in the direction of a forward part of the engine (see
fig. 130
);
- cast ledges on a rod and a rod cover (see
fig. 56
) should indicate in the direction of an asterisk of a cranked shaft of the engine;
- marking of number of the cylinder (see
fig. 55
) should be identical to a rod and a rod cover.
Assembly of pistons and rods carry out in the following order:
- heat up the piston to temperature 60 ° C (for this purpose put it in hot water) and pick up an opravka which should enter in a piston finger;
- heat up a rod;
- by hand by means of an opravka insert a piston finger into the warm piston and a rod
(fig. 133)
. If very hot, it it is possible to wrap up the piston a rag;
- establish spring lock rings 2 (see
fig. 132
) on both parties of a piston finger 3 and be convinced that they densely sit in grooves;
- check: the rod after assembly freely moves forward-back (see
fig. 65
). It should move smoothly, should not be felt any jammings;
- grease with engine oil of a flute on the piston and piston rings and by means of special nippers for installation of piston rings (see
fig. 58
) establish piston rings in flutes. If on a ring the label of "Oben" or "Torahs" is put, a ring establish a label up (to the piston bottom). Kompressionnye is easy for mixing piston rings. For this reason it is necessary to look before installation at their cross-section section;
- if special nippers for installation of piston rings are not present, it is possible to use metal strips (see
fig. 59
). For this purpose put on rings metal strips and bring them on level of piston flutes. Then, pull out metal strips and establish piston rings in flutes.
