Check of details of a cranked shaft carry out in the following order:
- examine a cranked shaft. Cracks in any place of a cranked shaft are not allowed. On the surfaces interfaced to working edges of consolidations, scratches, забоины and risks are not allowed;
- make exact measurements of necks of radical and shatunny bearings. At their repair it is possible перешлифовывать to three times with reduction of diameter. After that repair loose leaves of the increased thickness are established;

- clamp a cranked shaft between holders of the lathe, or establish extreme radical necks on two prisms (fig. 138) and check the indicator palpation on a radical neck of an average support. Palpation should not exceed 0,06 mm, otherwise it is necessary to replace a shaft;
- measurements of gaps in radical and shatunny bearings, with use of a piece of a plastic wire from «Plastigage» set, it is carried out as well as for the VR6 engine (see item 2.6.2);
- if there is no plastic wire of Plastigage, it is possible to measure palpation of radical and shatunny bearings the next way:
- establish covers of bearings together with the enclosed loose leaves in the block of cylinders and tighten bolts of fastening the moment of 65 N · m. Loose leaves should be established in the initial places;
- if palpation of shatunny bearings is measured, insert loose leaves into rods and covers of rods, and tighten covers old nuts the moment of 30 N · m;

- carry out measurements of diameter of the established loose leaves of bearings by means of the measuring device (fig. 139) . Pay special attention to the directions of measurement of A and B, and also a place of measurement 1 and 2. Thus, it is possible to reveal rotundity violation (A and B), and also a conicity (1 and 2). Write down results of measurement of each separate bearing;

- measure diameters of all necks of bearings by a micrometer. Thus pay attention to places of measurements ( fig. 140 , are shown by shooters). Write down results of measurement of each neck of bearings;
- palpation of radical and shatunny bearings and a difference between measured internal diameters of openings of bearings and diameters of bearings.

To check palpation of shatunny bearings, turn a cranked shaft and measure the following two shatunny necks as it is described above.
