Repair Sharan/Sharan Volkswagen>> Two-liter engine (ADY)>> Head of the block of cylinders and valves>> Hydraulic pusher
Maloperation with hydraulic pushers can damage to the engine therefore observe the following recommendations:
- after removal it is necessary to establish hydraulic pushers a contact surface down on a pure surface;
- pushers always replace completely as they are not subject to adjustment or repair;
- noise of valves at start-up of the engine is the normal phenomenon. However if it too loud, it is necessary to check pushers, for this purpose:
- start the engine and let's to it work, until the cooling fan will turn on;
- increase frequency of rotation of the engine to 2500 mines-1 and let's to it work during 2 mines;
- if valves still rustle, for definition of a faulty pusher muffle the engine, uncover heads of the block of cylinders and rotate a camshaft so that its cam for a checked pusher looked up;

Fig. 126. Check of a hydraulic pusher

- press a pusher a piece of plastic or the ground wooden stick (fig. 126) . If thus the gap makes more than 0,10 mm before the valve will open, it is necessary to replace a pusher.

Note
After installation of a new pusher the engine can be started not earlier than in 30 minutes. During this time hydraulic regulating elements "calm down" and then allow valves to be closed and open well. Otherwise valves can knock on pistons.
