Repair Sharan/Sharan Volkswagen>> Two-liter engine (ADY)>> Head of the block of cylinders and valves>> Replacement of an epiploon of a camshaft The epiploon of a camshaft acts in film from the engine on the car if near it there are oil traces. The epiploon settles down behind a camshaft pulley. Removal of an epiploon is carried out in the following order:
- weaken and remove a driving belt on the forward party of the engine;
- remove the top protective cover 4 (see
fig. 106
) a driving belt;
- turn the engine so that to establish the first cylinder in situation VMT. The label of VMT should be located opposite to a label on a camshaft pulley

- note the direction of movement of a driving belt by means of a color arrow, weaken a tension roller of a driving belt (see item 3.7.1), remove a driving belt and adhere it so that it could not slide off a camshaft pulley. Now the cranked shaft of the engine cannot be turned;
- fix a camshaft pulley in a motionless condition (for example, by means of an old gear driving belt), turn on a bolt of fastening and remove a camshaft pulley;
- by means of nippers, take from a camshaft a segment shponka;
- screw as it is possible further in the camshaft end a pulley bolt with a washer;
- removal of an epiploon from a camshaft carry out by means of a stripper 2085

, for what:
- turn out on 2 turns (about 3 mm) an internal part A of a stripper and fix this situation by the adjusting screw B;
- grease a carving head of an external part of a stripper 2085, insert, and then screw it in an epiploon
(fig. 129)

- weaken the adjusting screw B (see
fig. 128
) and screw an internal part A in a camshaft so that to take an epiploon;
- clamp a stripper 2085 in a vice and by means of nippers remove an epiploon.
At installation of an epiploon grease with engine oil a sealing surface (also it is necessary to grease a surface of a kacheniye of a camshaft) and look, that the epiploon party on which the spring is located, it was directed in a head of the block of the cylinder. For installation of an epiploon it is possible to use a pipe which should correspond to the size of an external part of an epiploon completely. Put an epiploon directly (without distortions) and впрессовывайте it until its external surface will not come completely inside. To establish an epiploon it is possible also in the way described in item 3.6.4 for a new forward epiploon of a cranked shaft;
